Senior Bears 20, Tigers 0

The 8th Grade Bears battled the Tenino Tigers for most of the first half last Saturday. The turning point came when Joel Anthony Intercepted a Tiger pass and brought it home for 25 yards and a score. That gave the Bears a 6-0 lead going into half time. In the third quarter the Bear offense kept pounding away at a tough Tenino defense. Finally with the Bears on our own 40 yard line Logan Rants Scored on a Wedge play up the middle that went for 60 yards and a touchdown. Great execution by the offensive line of Fijokek, Miranda, Thorpe, McClure, and Wittenberg.

The Bear Defense played tough again with Tyler Spice stopping a Tiger drive with an inteception and 16 yard return, and Tanner Wright recovering a Fumble. The Bears final score came on a strike over the middle from Rants to Avery Powell who exploded down the sideline to finish the 46 yard play. Bears win 20-0!

GREAT GAME FOR THE SENIOR VARSITY

Congratulations to the 8th grade Bears for a convincing victory over the Wolves 42-7. The Bear offensive line enabled 7 running backs to gain a combined total of over 200 yards rushing. Griffin Boudia started the bears scoring with a 5 yard TD run over the right side of Brett Wittenberg and Conner McClure. Logan Rants rushed for 2 touchdowns and threw a 21 yard Touchdown pass to Steven Gee. The defense played tough through out the game. Interceptions by Tui Magelei and Steven Gee helped seal the victory. It was a great team effort. Go Bears!

Senior Bears get victory over Hawks

The 8th grade Bears opened the season with a convincing 19-0 victory over the Hawks. The offense rolled up 256 total yards for the game. Great fundamental blocking by our offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage through out the game. Our running attack was lead by Delavia Spry who scored 2 TD’s and rushed 11 times for 95 yards and Joel Anthony who added 8 carries for 104 yards and 1 TD. The Bear defense dominated the Hawks and came up numerous big plays causing 3 turnovers. Marcus Raschkow & Chris Martin each intercepted a pass while Cody Haisch recovered a Hawk fumble. Griffin Boudia, Tanner Fijolek and Tanner Wright each had 4 solo tackles to lead the tough Bear defense.

Great job Bears!

Week 5

Varsity Bears Stun Rams

The 8th grade Bears closed the book on the Lacey Rams ending their 36 game winning streak on Saturday night. The bears opened a new chapter of their own with another evening of dominating defense and more ball control offense to raise their mark to 5-0 with a 14-8 victory over the Rams. The win brought home the division title going into the playoffs. The offense got the scoring started for the Bears with a 37-yard pass play to Joel Anthony that put the Bears on the Ram 3 yard line. Logan Rants then punched it in running the wedge play through the middle. The Bears second score came from the defensive side of the ball. The Rams began to march into Bear territory. On the Bear 35 yard line with severe pressure from the defensive front of Miranda, Wittenberg, and Thorpe the Ram line began to collapse while Griffin Boudia hit the Lacey QB as he released the ball. The pass rush enabled the quick throw and on a spectacular interception return by cornerback Marcus Raschkow, Marcus and a host of Bears rumbled 85 yards for a TD. The interception electrified the Bear sideline and provided momentum going into second half. The Bear defense continued to shut the Rams down with great plays and another interception by safety Steven Gee. With the offense controlling the ball and the clock, time ran out on the Rams ending their win streak. Great effort Bears!

8th Grade Bears: 4 - 0

A strong TBirds team came to play on Saturday night. However the 8th grade Bear defense came up with a stunning shut out limiting Tumwater to just 79 yards in total offense. Tanner Fijolek came up with a fumble recovery on Tumwater's first drive. That set up the Bears first score on a 8 play drive starting on the Tbird 38 yard line and ending with Rants scoring on the wedge play up the middle from 3 yards out. The Bear defense then went back to work preventing the TBirds from moving the ball with strong Defensive end play from Griffin Boudia and Casey Thorpe. The starting defense front of Wittenberg and Miranda along a host of Bear defensive linemen including Mehyar, Morgan, Weiks & Helsing kept constant pressure on the TBirds. The Bear offense overcame mistakes and two fumbles to put together a final drive. With the ball on Tumwater 40 yard line and the Bears faced with a 4th down and 8 yards to go, Logan Rants hit Avery Powell over the middle for a 16 yard gain and first d own. Joel Anthony scored 4 plays later on a wedge counter with Steven Gee adding the extra points for a 14-0 Bear victory. Good Job Bears!
